Luke has considerable experience in restoring corporate health and performance, skilfully utilising the mechanisms available in the relevant jurisdiction(s), which often have included direct appointments as Chief Restructuring Officer and Board member.

Mr. Natalegawa is a Senior Banker with extensive experience in origination, debt/equity capital market and M&A. Background

Hubert is an executive director in AJCapital’s Singapore office with over 17 years’ experience in complex corporate insolvency and restructuring in Singapore, Australia and China.

Hubert began his career in Australia, moved to Shanghai in China in early 2008 before settling in Singapore in late 2010. He is well regarded as a tenacious liquidator and a pragmatic restructuring advisor. Hubert has been involved in a number of high-profile financial restructuring of listed companies in Singapore and Indonesia, contentious insolvency matters spanning multiple jurisdictions, as well as independent financial reviews for investors, financial institutions and companies in distress.

Experience

Presently, Hubert is involved in the financial restructurings and scheme of arrangement of a listed interior design company headquartered in Singapore. He is also a joint liquidator of a ponzi-scheme disguised as a high profile fintech firm which owes creditors over S$150m. Darien is a Manager in our Singapore office and has been involved in the management of various debt restructuring and liquidation engagements since joining AJCapital. Prior to joining AJCapital, Darien was part of the Audit Assurance team at PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore, where he was primarily engaged in the auditing of large companies across various industries, including sovereign wealth funds, publicly listed companies and real estate developers.

Building on his experience geared in the audit and financial sectors, Darien specialises in financial and operational streamlining, cash flow monitoring , creditor management and stakeholder communications.

Most recently, Darien has played an integral role in managing the restructuring of a Singapore publicly listed company specialising in interior fit-outs.

Background

Hubert is an executive director in AJCapital’s Singapore office with over 17 years’ experience in complex corporate insolvency and restructuring in Singapore, Australia and China.

Hubert began his career in Australia, moved to Shanghai in China in early 2008 before settling in Singapore in late 2010. He is well regarded as a tenacious liquidator and a pragmatic restructuring advisor. Hubert has been involved in a number of high-profile financial restructuring of listed companies in Singapore and Indonesia, contentious insolvency matters spanning multiple jurisdictions, as well as independent financial reviews for investors, financial institutions and companies in distress.

Experience

Presently, Hubert is involved in the financial restructurings and scheme of arrangement of a listed interior design company headquartered in Singapore. He is also a joint liquidator of a ponzi-scheme disguised as a high profile fintech firm which owes creditors over S$150m. In addition, Hubert is appointed liquidator to a number of Singaporean companies across a broad range of industries including consumer audio, food and beverage, technology and travel.

Hubert has also been involved with:

  • PKPU of the Duniatex Group of Companies.
  • Receivership of two offshore support vessels located in Indonesia and United Arab Emirates at the request of a major Australian financial institution.
  • Independent financial review of a municipal civil engineering company based in Singapore.
  • Independent review of the financial accounts of a Singapore Stock Exchange (“SGX”) listed health care services provider to support the company’s share trading resumption proposal.
  • Independent financial review of a SGX listed offshore marine vessel builder with manufacturing facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at the request of a major financial institution.
  • Independent financial review of an Australian Stock Exchange listed junior coal miner with coal mining operations in Mongolia and tenements in Australia and Indonesia.
  • Scheme of arrangement of a shipbuilder and fabrication plant based in Singapore.
  • Liquidation of SGX listed soybean products manufacturer.

Background

Susana has been involved in various debt restructuring, distressed debt due diligence, M&A, and complex valuation engagements. Prior to joining AJCapital, she worked at Citibank where she supported senior retail & SME relationship managers in building, managing, and maintaining professional relationship with clients.

Experience

Her experience includes:

  • Assisted the largest state-owned oil & gas company on the sale of its subsidiary with a potential transaction value of USD 1.5-3 billion.
  • Advised the acquisition process of one of four private switching/payment gateway companies as a sell-side advisor.
  • Due diligence work on a distressed debt portfolio of a local bank amounted to face value of IDR 2 trillion with objective to determine an appropriate bid price.
  • Assisted the rights issue registration process of one of the largest listed coal mining companies in Indonesia, as part of the implementation of its restructuring agreement.
  • Delivered a complex valuation work for a contingent claim instrument, which is triggered by average future commodity price.
  • Advised in the ongoing restructuring of the largest Indonesian offshore drilling company on their syndicated and bilateral bank loan with duty care to the lenders. Assignments involved due diligence, financial modeling and restructuring options development.

Background

Ivan is a Manager with experience in debt & equity capital market and M&A. Ivan has experiences in managing debt issuance and fund raising through domestic and international offering transactions, as well as financial advisory related transactions.

Experience

Ivan has over 4 years experience in financial industry in Indonesia. Prior to joining AJCapital Advisory, he was with RHB Investment Bank and actively involved in conducting debt, domestic and international offering transactions, also providing advice for Pre-IPO advisory, mergers & acquisitions transactions, restructuring and fund-raising deals for various industries, including but not limited to manufacturing, telecoms, property and multi finance.

His experience includes:

  • Managed and involved in Initial Public Offering for Indonesian companies with total fund raise of IDR1.4 trillion.
  • Managed and involved in bonds issuance of banking and multi-finance companies with total bonds issued of IDR8.4 trillion.
  • Managed and involved in rights issuance of leisure and banking companies with total issuance of IDR 1,6 trillion.
  • Advising on Pre-IPO, M&A and fund raising projects for companies in Indonesia.

Mitchel is a corporate finance professional with 10 years’ experience in multiple sides of the profession. Starting off as a sell-side research analyst, he then transitioned to corporate roles before settling into debt restructuring and turn around advisory. He has been involved in various debt restructuring, due diligence, M&A, and complex structuring / negotiation engagements.

Experience

His experience includes, among others, the following assignments:

  • Advising an Indonesia based property developer company through a Singapore process with a debt value of approximately USD 300 million
  • Advising an Indonesia based specialty retail company through a PKPU process with a debt value of USD 40-60 million
  • Advising on the reliability of a proposed restructuring plan for a Singapore based manufacturing company with a value of USD 20 – 50 million
  • Advising on a potential sale of a private Indonesian company worth a USD 300 – 600 million
  • Establishing a real estate development company with a 50ha landbank in Bandung
  • Establishing two joint ventures and assisting in the establishment two partnerships on behalf of a listed Indonesian company

Zara is a manager based in Singapore and her experience includes business recovery, contentious insolvency, turnaround and corporate restructuring solutions, relating to a wide range of industries including retail, food and beverage, investment funds, telecommunication, shipping across the region.

Zara’s outcome-driven approach, coupled with her ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders goes a long way towards achieving successful results for clients. She also recognises the importance of maintaining trust with parties affected by business failure and understands how dealing with distressed situations requires a different mindset. Her track record of implementing pragmatic responses to complex problems across multiple geographies, cultures and legal jurisdictions attests to Zara’s commercial mindset and client focus.

Experience

Zara’s notable assignments include turnaround management and advisory for the acquirer of the business and assets of a global food and beverage organisation headquartered out of the UK, financial investigations including assets tracing, investigating misfeasance, antecedent transactions and breach of director duties relating to a cross-border private jet company and the first successful case for third-party commercial litigation funding in an insolvency before the Singapore Courts.

During her career, Zara has been involved in a number of contentious liquidation appointments which allows her to develop an ability to work efficiently with legal counsel to generate maximum value for her clients under time pressure. She also has experience in creditor management including structuring of repayment plans as well as other specialised areas within distressed advisory including financial statement review, stakeholder management, cash monitoring.

Background

Darien is a Manager in our Singapore office and has been involved in the management of various debt restructuring and liquidation engagements since joining AJCapital. Prior to joining AJCapital, Darien was part of the Audit Assurance team at PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore, where he was primarily engaged in the auditing of large companies across various industries, including sovereign wealth funds, publicly listed companies and real estate developers.

Experience

Building on his experience geared in the audit and financial sectors, Darien specialises in financial and operational streamlining, cash flow monitoring , creditor management and stakeholder communications.

Most recently, Darien has played an integral role in managing the restructuring of a Singapore publicly listed company specialising in interior fit-outs.

Darien has also;

  • Assisted the Chief Restructuring Officer in the restructuring of a distressed SGX listed entity, which successfully received a landmark decision from the High Court of Singapore for the approval of S$62 million in DIP rescue financing;
  • Worked alongside C-suite members in the management of day-to-day operational cashflow;
  • Advised key management in their decision making process to deal with various stakeholders; and
  • Negotiated with company creditors and develop detailed repayment plans to ensure optimal cash utilisation.
