Restructuring Insolvency & Governance Conference 2023
The 2023 Restructuring and Insolvency Conference was held in Jakarta on 1 November 2023, bringing together more than 213 invitation-only participants from the judiciary, banking sector, policymaking institutions, and insolvency professionals from Indonesia and across the region. The closed format was designed to enable focused and constructive dialogue among key stakeholders.
Organized by AJCapital, with support from Insol International and the ADB, and hosted by Danareksa and PPA, the conference marked the approaching 20th anniversary of Indonesia’s Insolvency Law (Law No. 37 of 2004) and coincided with the Supreme Court’s initiative to draft a revised insolvency and bankruptcy framework.
Panel discussions examined restructuring challenges for state-owned enterprises and private companies, implementation of the existing insolvency regime, cross-border debt complexities, and regulatory provisions with unintended consequences. The conference concluded with consolidated recommendations intended to contribute to ongoing insolvency law reform efforts in Indonesia.
